Where do you ship from?
We are located in the Southern United States. Most orders from this region arrive to neighboring geographic regions in 4-5 days.
When will my order arrive?
I manually enter USPS tracking information the second I create your shipping label. After that, it’s up to the USPS to do their job.
What shipping services do you offer?
To save you money, we only fuck with USPS first-class and USPS media mail. Both are adequate and cheap. If you really just can’t wait, email us.
Does Ancient Meadow accept orders from outside the U.S., to Europe, Canada, South America, and so on?
Yes, but please know that International shipping, even just for a few ounces, is ridiculously expensive, no matter who we use to ship your order.
Why is international shipping so expensive?
You would need to ask the United States Postal Service for a better answer, all we know is that it costs a lot of money to get an order to you as quickly as possible and as safely as possible. We don’t like it either, but that’s what it costs. Postage costs are even going up in the States when they used to be dirt cheap…so who knows.
Do you accept returns?
In the rare chance that we send you the wrong items, or we send you a tape or disc that is defective, we will accept a return. However, you should place your order knowing that all sales are final. Before we switched to dungeon synth releases, we released old school hardcore music for several years and never once mailed someone a defective or incorrect item.
How do I pay for my order? Is it secure?
We use Paypal payment solutions integrated into our checkout process. Paypal is the single most ubiquitous payment service for online transactions and using Paypal comes with a heap of protections for buyers. Paypal is universally supported and our technology stack includes SSL on all pages where you enter data about yourself. Payment through Paypal is totally secure and your information is never stored anywhere on our website, in our databases, or on our servers.
Can we swap/trade music?
Sure. If you would like to trade authentic physical copies (i.e. printed vinyl or audio cassette, CDs, flash drives, etc) of your dungeon synth or medieval-inspired music, then email us. We do not accept any other genre of music for trades. At present, we’re looking for an Ancient Recollections copy of Secret Stairways, an original copy of Hedge Wizard’s More True Than Time Thought, all five original copies of the Order of the Weeping Willow Releases, and original copies of Daudi Baldrs.
Can I send you my music?
Sure. Email us and we’ll give you an address to ship your physical media to us. If you send me a package with your music on a physical medium, it’s almost certain that I will listen to it immediately. If you send a link to your bandcamp, we’ll get to it eventually, but we’re incredibly busy.
I’m not happy with my order, do you offer any recourse?
We strive above all else to provide a swift and pleasant shopping experience to our customers. If you’re unhappy with an order, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and talk to us about it. Do note, however, that all sales are final.
What is Dungeon Synth?
Dungeon synth is a musical genre derived from black metal with the roots of the genre reach back into the mid-to-late 1980s. Dungeon synth became a genre through various black metal musicians active in the late 80s and early 90s releasing their solo projects–most of which were composed entirely on synthesizers but remained thematically true to their black metal / pagan roots. Dungeon synth is truly a product of the Scandinavian black metal scene from that era in time. Arguably, Mortiis and Burzum could be called both the progenitors and most prolific dungeon synth artists. In this context, we take dungeon synth to also mean and include dark ambient releases from artists thematically tied to black metal.
